JNF Blue Box campaigns are raising much-needed funds to support vulnerable communities in the Southern periphery.
With your help, JNF is supporting Kadima Youth Centres in the Negev in our mutual goal to minimise gaps in Israeli society using supplemental education.
The Reality
All children and youth who attend Kadima Youth Centres are at risk; they come from severely distressed and struggling families, who are referred to the centre by the local welfare departments.
The Method
Kadima Youth Centres provide a holistic solution for all aspects of life through daily and continuous all-year-round attendance in a supplementary educational program, which supplies enrichment activities, value-oriented education, homework assistance, lunch, and supper.
- Provide a safe space: For many young people, the youth centre is the only safe and nurturing environment where they can learn, grow, and develop their skills. The centre offers a positive alternative to the streets and provides a place where young people can find a sense of belonging and feel safe and supported.
- Promote education and enrichment: the youth centres offer a range of educational and enrichment activities that help young people to build their knowledge and advance their skills. These activities can help to improve academic achievements and increase successful future outcomes.
- Encourage positive behaviour: The programs offered at the youth centres help young people to develop critical social and emotional skills. They can help reduce negative behaviours such as drug use and violence and improve overall mental health.
- Foster leadership and mentorship: The youth centres’ programs help young people to develop their leadership potential in their community.
